RBSPS Autumn Meeting
In these exceptional times, we are being forced to take exceptional measures. That is why we, as
organizers, have decided to hold the RBSPS Autumn Meeting for the very first time in a purely
virtual setting on Saturday 14 November 2020.
We hope to seduce you with a versatile program with a feminine touch: the topics that captivate us
three the most within paediatric, reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery will certainly be
covered by fascinating, renowned keynote speakers, what makes us very excited!
As female plastic surgeons, we are in a good position to know that women have different
experiences than men during their training, and there is still a lack of same-sex mentors and role
models for women in academic surgery. A survey has been drawn up, the results of which will be
discussed during the session on gender bias in plastic surgery.
Of course, we understand that our biennial meetings are also important times for you to get in
contact with your colleagues and some firms’ representatives at our events. We have foreseen this
as well: on our platform it will not only be possible to have a private conversation (via chat or video),
or in group, with present colleagues of your choice, and you will also be able to visit our sponsors in
the virtual exhibition. There, you can either find information or request a meeting with the
representative present. In addition, just as in our live events, a tombola with a prize will be organized
for the participants who most actively participate in our virtual event and pay a visit to the virtual
exhibition booths.
We hope that you will take up the challenge with us and be present at our first virtual congress
dedicated entirely to "Women in Plastic Surgery”, to make it a memorable edition together!
